With the global community in lockdown and unable to visit, London’s most popular destination Covent Garden has curated a digital programme showcasing the different ways to bring Covent Garden home this Spring. From local restaurants Frenchie and Avobar releasing recipes to cook at home, extra special takeaway services from SUSHISAMBA and Henrietta Bistro, and online performances from the Royal Opera House, there is something for everyone.
Alongside at-home culinary experiences, Covent Garden’s Instagram channel is providing virtual entertainment for those stuck at home. Covent Garden’s Head Gardener Kenny Raybould is answering planting and growing questions on a weekly basis, teaching followers how to ‘grow your own’ and make homes greener. As part of the new digital programme, each Monday, exclusive content and online events for the week ahead will be announced, and a Friday night quiz will test your knowledge of Covent Garden. For culture enthusiasts, the Royal Opera House is offering a schedule of full-length opera and ballet every Friday at 7pm, as part of its #OurHouseToYourHouse series. Performances are free but viewers may donate to support the industry via the viewing platform.
Bringing an element of “dining out” to “dining in”, Covent Garden’s foodie favourites from Frenchie, SUSHISAMBA, Frog by Adam Handling, Avobar to GRIND have revealed their much-loved recipes. Those interested in brushing up on their culinary skills can visit the and learn how to make Frenchie’s signature Bacon Scones or SUSHISAMBA’s savoury Moqueca Mista Curry. The Frog by Adam Handling is also sharing recipes via Instagram, including their infamous cheese donuts. For something simpler Covent Garden’s Avobar encourages everyone to recreate its Moroccan Plantballs Bowl – and for those craving their barista’s morning coffee, GRIND is teaching followers how to make the perfect at-home brew.

For diners who want a no-fuss-experience, Covent Garden’s SUSHISAMBA and Henrietta Bistro are now offering home deliveries of their signature food and cocktails. Whether craving Whole Roasted Corn-Fed Chicken or signature Crispy Yellow Taquitos, Londoners can visit Covent Garden’s SUSHISAMBA to collect an order, or for those nearby, delivery is also available within a 5 mile radius.
