“I graduated university in 2015 with a Real Estate Bsc (Hons) degree and started at Capco the following September. I joined the Covent Garden side of the business and have worked within Property Management and Asset Management. The teams were excellent in guiding me through my roles and responsibilities, which included assisting with service charge budgets, rates management, new lettings, surrenders and rent reviews.

During my time at Capco I have had involvement with both residential and commercial property, with part of my role dedicated to managing our Covent Garden residential portfolio and ensuring our tenants receive unparalleled service. I have also assisted in arranging and implementing retail tenant mix strategies across the Covent Garden Estate.

Capco’s energetic and dynamic environment has enabled me to flourish. Graduates are given responsibility and exposure right from the start, providing me with the necessary skills to ultimately pass my APC and become an RICS Chartered Surveyor.”

Tom Dwyer, BSc in Real Estate, University of Reading

“During summer 2014 I completed an internship at Capco with the Earls Court Asset Management team. Following this, and the completion of my Real Estate degree, I was offered a position as a Graduate Surveyor.

Over the past year I have been involved in a wide variety of work, taking on the lead property management role of our non-operational portfolio, assisting and completing on acquisitions, lettings, lease renewals and rent reviews, whilst also implementing an active asset management strategy to maximise revenue. Being part of a team working towards the redevelopment of Earls Court allows me to interact with our Investment, Finance and Planning departments, which has provided me with a greater understanding of what a development of this scale involves and how the business operates.

Working at Capco offers me the platform needed to gain relevant experience towards my APC. My colleagues are supportive and willing to assist in order to complete my assessment, providing guidance throughout the process, arranging secondments and organising training necessary to ensure I'm best placed to gain my qualification as a Chartered Surveyor.”
