Bill Black Property Director, Earls Court & Olympia

Bill Black is a Chartered Surveyor and has been a director of the Capital & Counties business since 1994, where he has worked since 1984. Until 2007 he was responsible for all the company’s property holdings. During 2007 he also became Property Director of the Earls Court & Olympia Group responsible for its operational property strategy, the Olympia redevelopment and refurbishment projects as well as various aspects of the Earls Court redevelopment project. He is also a member of the Board of Management of the British Council for Offices.

Beverley Churchill Director of Marketing and Communications

Beverley Churchill has been the brand director of Covent Garden London since 2007 and leads the creative direction of the revitalisation of the tenant mix. Upon completion of the Demerger, she took on the role of director of marketing and communications for the Company, reporting to the chief executive. She has a career spanning over 16 years in the retail industry specialising in branding and marketing. In that time she has worked for Tesco, Bhs and Selfridges, where she was marketing director.

Sarah-Jane Curtis Director of Covent Garden

Sarah-Jane Curtis joined Capco as Director of Covent Garden in 2011, taking responsibility for the leasing, development and asset management of the Covent Garden estate. Sarah-Jane brings a wealth of experience to the Covent Garden team as during her 25 year career at Grosvenor she was Retail Investment Director of the London estate and Fund Manager for the Grosvenor Liverpool Fund.

Donald Grant Financial Controller

Donald Grant is Capco’s financial controller. Donald was previously the group reporting manager for Liberty International. Before joining Liberty International in 2008, Donald was the head of financial and regulatory reporting for BGC Partners, a London-based inter-broker dealer.

Andrew Hicks Property Director, Covent Garden London

Andrew Hicks is a chartered surveyor and joined the Capital & Counties business in 1989. He has undertaken a number of different roles within the Company since then, including 5 years as a fund manager for the New Star Property Unit Trust. He was involved in the acquisition of the Covent Garden London estate in August 2006 and as property director of Covent Garden London now leads the Covent Garden London property team, he reports to the chief executive of the Company.

Gavin Mitchell Director of Project Management

Gavin Mitchell was appointed director of project management in May 2010 and leads the project management function of the Company. He is a chartered surveyor and, having joined Liberty International in 2005, was a director of Liberty International Construction and Development Limited providing project management services. He has over 20 years’ property experience having worked for a main contractor, private consultancies and developers. In that time, he has worked on a wide range of developments in the sector including commercial, residential, retail and large mixed use schemes. Over the last two years he has been focused on the Earls Court and Olympia projects whilst also supporting the Covent Garden team in delivery of the asset management and development projects.

Nigel Nathan Group Managing Director, EC&O Venues

Nigel Nathan has over 30 years experience in the exhibition industry and has held several key positions including managing director of Blenheim PEL and Blenheim Online as well as events director at the Business Design Centre. Nigel Nathan currently sits on the board of the industry body Association of Event Venues having served as its chairman for several years. He also serves as a board member of its parent body the Events Industry Alliance where he also served as chairman for several years. He has worked at EC&O for 11 years and following the Demerger continued in his role of group managing director of EC&O Venues.

Ruth Pavey Company Secretary

Appointed company secretary prior to the demerger. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, Ruth was previously assistant company secretary at Liberty International. Before joining Liberty International in 2004, Ruth worked for several professional service firms.

Jill Pett Director of HR and CR

Jill Pett joined Capco as Director of HR and CR in 2011, and oversees all aspects of people strategy. Prior to this she ran a successful executive coaching consultancy. Jill was HR Director of global law firm, Mayer Brown from 2000 before joining Davis Langdon LLP as HR Partner in 2005. She spent most of the 90’s in Hong Kong where she established a leading recruitment business.

Richard Powell Director of Planning and Development

Richard Powell joined the Company as director of planning and development for Earl’s Court and Olympia in September 2010. A chartered surveyor, he trained at DTZ and KPMG and was a founding member of HM Treasury Taskforce. He joined Lend Lease in 2002 and was involved in major projects in London including Stratford City and the Olympic Village, Elephant and Castle, and the creation of First Base, an innovative affordable housing company.

Bob Tattar Commercial Controller

Bob Tattar was appointed commercial controller in May 2010, having previously held the position of finance director of the Capital & Counties business from 2008. A chartered accountant, he spent 13 years at Cable & Wireless performing a number of roles including interconnect accounting, project management and risk management, and was also financial controller for global support services. In 2004 he was appointed a partner of King Sturge LLP and a director of its financial services company.

Michael Vaughan-Johns Director of Portfolio Management

Michael Vaughan-Johns is a chartered surveyor and was investment director of Capital & Counties Limited having joined the Company in January 2008. With 21 years’ property experience in both London and Hong Kong, he has been involved in a wide range of investment and development projects. He is responsible for rationalising the portfolio of the Capital & Counties business, disposing of non-core assets as well as overseeing the China fund investments. He oversees portfolio management and reports to the chief executive of the Company.
